“These two media brands belong together,” said Rupert Murdoch, media tycoon and founder of News Corp, the parent company of Fox News. “Fox News and Russia Today are world-class leaders in misinformation and propaganda. Authoritarianism wouldn’t be where it is today without either network.”
“After Russia invaded Ukraine, the popularity of the Russia Today network plummeted,” Murdoch explained. “We just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to buy this historic media brand at such a bargain price. The vile editorial values and complete malice towards journalism that define Russia Today perfectly align with what we’re doing at Fox News.”

We have seen great success through our other publications in the News Corp family, like The Wall Street Journal, The New York Post, The Sun, The Daily Telegraph—and the list goes on. Russia Today will just be the newest member of our media disinformation family.”
