“I’m proud to announce that Republican voters with Covid in Florida can now submit their 2022 ballots as an email attachment,” said Ron DeSantis, GOP Governor of Florida. “This expedited means of voting in the next election will only be available to registered Republicans who have contracted Covid as a result of their Florida freedom.”
With more than 4 million Covid infections and over 63,000 Covid-casued deaths, Florida has been and continues to be devastated by the pandemic.
Florida Democrats lambasted the new regulation as unfair and a clear violation of voting rights and representational government. In response, DeSantis replied, “Whatever. Suck it. All registered Republicans in the state of Florida will receive their Word-document ballots via email over the next two weeks. This voting rights initiative for Florida Republicans will allow those on death’s doorstep one last opportunity to fulfill their civic duties as Americans before succumbing to their freedom.”
“Let’s face it,” said Florida Democratic House Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz, “We’ve always been a feckless bunch of liberals in this state. I think it’s time for new blood in the Democratic Party in Florida. This group I’ve been part of can’t make progress for shit.”
