“I’m taking time off of not having had any elected role whatsoever to focus on my relationships with my Republican friends,” said Hunter, sitting at a coffee shop in Arlington, Virginia. “No one will be replacing me, because I don’t have any responsibilities in any position at all.”

“We’re looking forward to spending more time together,” said former Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy (R-CA). “Hunter and I have a lot in common. We both hate Matt Gaetz, for example, and we both have laptops—which is not something I think many friends have in common.”

“I hope to collaborate with Hunter in my new career dispensing advice and good vibes on Cameo,” said former House Member George Santos (R-NY). “Hunter brings a lot to the table, because he has never done anything in a governmental capacity—just like me. With his experience and my imagination, we can change the world.”

“I don’t know about that,” Hunter said in response to Santos’s offer. “I’m guessing George will be back in the House as an elected Republican from some other state in a year or two.”
